Lash lift or lash extensions: which one suits your lashes
In short
One works with the lashes you have, the other adds to them. The right answer depends on your natural lash density and how much upkeep you are willing to do.
Start with lash density, not the look you saw online
A lift curls what is already there. If your lashes are reasonably dense but point straight down, a lift opens the eye immediately. If they are sparse, lifting them makes the gaps more visible rather than less.
Upkeep is the real difference
A lift needs nothing for six to eight weeks — you can use mascara, swim and rub your eyes. Extensions need daily cleaning with a lash foam, no oil-based cleanser, and a refill every two to four weeks. Clients who skip the cleaning are the ones who report itching and early shedding.
Holiday timing
If you are in Phuket for a week, a lift is the lower-risk choice: it survives the sea and needs no follow-up appointment. Extensions look better in photographs but will need a refill after you fly home.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have both?
Not at the same time. A lift changes the angle of the natural lash and extensions will not bond evenly to a lifted lash.
Does either damage natural lashes?
Not when done correctly: a lift uses timed lotion suited to your hair type, and extensions are isolated one to one with weight matched to the natural lash.
