What matters is how much pigment is left and what colour it has turned — old work that has gone grey, blue or reddish will pull the new pigment towards that tone, and a top-up over it sets the old colour rather than replacing it. It depends on how dark the old work is, not on which technique it was. Hair Stroke is a set of individual lines, and lines only read as hair if there is clean skin between them — laid over a solid block of old shading they disappear into it and you have paid for a technique you cannot see. If the old work is light, yes. If it is still solid, one or two lightening sessions first is what makes the new technique visible. We will say which at the consultation rather than take the booking and hope.

Yes — that is a partial lightening rather than a removal. Instead of clearing the whole brow, the artist works evenly across it to bring the depth down while leaving the outline where it is. It usually takes more than one pass because pigment lifts gradually, and how many depends on how deep and how old the pigment is. "6D" is a marketing name for a stroke technique with more layers and more strokes, not a separate discipline — both are individual hair-like lines. Our menu names the versions we actually do: Hair Stroke, Combo Hair Stroke, which adds a soft shadow under the strokes, and Premium Hair Stroke. The honest answer to which suits you is that it depends on your skin: strokes hold their edges on dry to normal skin, while oily skin tends to blur them over time, which is why combo work is often the more durable choice there. That is a judgement made looking at your skin, not from a technique name.

More than one, and how many depends on how deep the pigment sits, what colour it is, and how your skin clears it — black and blue-toned pigment is more stubborn than brown. Sessions are spaced several weeks apart because the skin needs to settle between them, and rushing that does more harm than the extra pass achieves. We would rather give you a realistic number after looking at the brows than a flattering one over chat.

You can wash your face normally — that is a feature of how this technique heals, and the colour is 70 to 90 per cent set from the first session. What you do need to avoid is soaking: no swimming pool, sea, sauna, steam room or long hot showers over the brows until the flaking has finished, which is usually around a week to ten days. Sweat from hard exercise counts as soaking too. The branch gives you the aftercare in writing on the day.

Microblading is hair stroke work done by hand with a blade. The same look can be created by machine, which is gentler on oily and mature skin. We choose the tool from your skin, not from the trend name.
